THE SUPPLEMENT PLACE

Zinc Carnosine

Zinc carnosine, also known as polaprazinc, is an artificially produced common form of zinc supplementation in which a zinc ion and carnosine are bound in a 1-to-1 ratio to form a polymeric structure. This compound is considered three times more effective than each ingredient alone. The supplement has been used in Japan since 1994 for gastric ulcers, gastritis, and other gut problems. Today these supplements are sold as dietary zinc supplements with an added value for gastric health.*

Zinc is an essential element that is a cofactor in 300 endogenous biochemical reactions and plays a role in DNA and RNA synthesis. Zinc deficiency is age-related and may cause ulcers, thinning of hair, dermatitis, and loss of appetite. Zinc also plays a role in sexual maturation, fertility, and reproduction, as well as the immune system.

Carnosine is a protein building block that is naturally produced by the body. It’s involved in the proper functioning of the muscles, heart, kidneys, and other organs.

Gut Health (support the health gastrointestinal lining, promote healthy lining of the stomach, increases levels of Heat Shock Protein, relieve occasional stomach discomfort)

Zinc carnosine may be effective for small-bowel mucosal injury associated with low-dose-aspirin therapy. (1)* Zinc Carnosine supports gastrointestinal activity and studies discuss protective effects in the small intestinal. (2)* Zinc carnosine portrays an anti-inflammatory effect. (3)* Many studies have backed zinc carnosine’s role in increasing levels of heat shock protein (HSP). HSP is produced by the body in response to stress. Therefore, zinc carnosine may be associated with longevity of genes and a better immune system. (4)
